Canceling Services & Refund Policy at NG Domain

This guide outlines the general process for canceling services with NG Domain and our typical refund policy. Please refer to our official Terms of Service for the most detailed and up-to-date information.

Canceling Your Services:

  1. Login to Your Account:

    • Access your NG Domain client area using your login credentials.
  2. Navigate to Your Services:

    • Find the section listing your active services (e.g., "My Services," "My Domains," "My Products").
  3. Request Cancellation:

    • For most services like hosting, there's usually an option to "Request Cancellation" for the specific service you wish to discontinue.
    • Follow the on-screen prompts. You may be asked for a reason for cancellation and whether you want the cancellation to be immediate or at the end of the current billing period.
    • Domains: Domain registrations often cannot be "canceled" in the same way as hosting. If you don't want a domain anymore, you typically let it expire by not renewing it. If you've mistakenly registered a domain, contact support immediately, but note that domain registrations are often non-refundable once processed by the registry.
  4. Disable Auto-Renewal:

    • Crucially, ensure that auto-renewal is disabled for any service you intend to cancel or let expire. This prevents future automatic billing. You can usually manage auto-renewal settings in the same area where you manage your services or domains.
  5. Confirmation:

    • You should receive a confirmation of your cancellation request or a notification that auto-renewal has been disabled.

Refund Policy (General Guidelines):

NG Domain aims for customer satisfaction. Our refund policies are designed to be fair and are typically as follows (subject to our official Terms of Service):

  • Hosting Services:

    • Many web hosting plans (e.g., shared hosting, VPS) may come with a money-back guarantee for a specific period (e.g., 7, 15, or 30 days) from the initial purchase date.
    • If you cancel within this guarantee period, you may be eligible for a full or partial refund of the hosting fees.
    • Setup fees, if any, are often non-refundable.
    • Refunds are generally not provided for cancellations made after the money-back guarantee period.
    • Monthly plans are often non-refundable, or refunds are not provided for the current billing month.
  • Domain Name Registrations/Renewals/Transfers:

    • Due to the policies of domain registries (like NIRA for .ng domains and ICANN for gTLDs), domain registration, renewal, and transfer fees are generally non-refundable once the transaction is processed.
    • If you register a domain by mistake, contact support immediately. While refunds are rare, we can advise on any possibilities.
    • If a domain transfer fails for reasons outside of NG Domain's control (e.g., incorrect EPP code, domain lock at the losing registrar), the transfer fee may not be refundable, but we will work with you to resolve the issue.
  • SSL Certificates & Other Add-on Services:

    • Policies vary. Some add-on services might have their own refund periods or may be non-refundable. Check the specific terms at the time of purchase.
  • Promotional Offers:

    • Services purchased under special promotions or discounts may have different refund conditions, which will be stated at the time of the offer.

How to Request a Refund (If Eligible):

  • If you believe you are eligible for a refund according to our policy, please contact NG Domain's billing support team.
  • Provide your account details, the service in question, and the reason for your refund request.

Important Notes:

  • Read the Terms: Always refer to NG Domain's official Terms of Service and any specific product agreements for the definitive policies on cancellations and refunds.
  • Data Backup: Before canceling a hosting service, ensure you have backed up all your website files, databases, and emails, as this data will likely be deleted after cancellation.
  • Billing Cycles: Be aware of your billing cycles. Cancellations are often effective at the end of the current paid term unless an immediate cancellation with a pro-rata refund (if applicable) is requested and granted.

We strive to make these processes as clear as possible. If you have any questions, our support team is ready to assist.
