Cancelling Services and Refunds at NG Domain
This guide explains how to stop paying for something you bought from NG Domain, and when a refund is possible. Our Terms of Service have the final word.
Domains
A domain registration can't be cancelled part-way through its term, because the registry charges for the name as soon as it is registered. If you no longer want a domain:
- Let it expire. Turn off auto-renew in the domain's Settings tab in your dashboard, and don't renew it when the reminder arrives. It stops working at the end of its term, passes through the registry's grace and redemption periods, then is released for anyone to register.
- Transfer it away. If you'd rather keep the domain with another registrar, see Transferring Your Domain.
- Registered the wrong name? Contact support straight away. Registry fees are usually non-refundable once a registration is processed, but we'll tell you what's possible.
Domain Services
- WHOIS privacy is included free with every registration, so there's nothing to cancel.
- DNSSEC is billed yearly alongside the domain. To stop paying for it, ask support to remove it before it renews.
- Backorders and concierge requests are one-time fees for work we do on your behalf. As stated at checkout, they are non-refundable whatever the outcome.
Refunds
Registration, renewal and transfer fees are generally non-refundable once the registry has processed them. If something went wrong with a payment, such as being charged twice for the same order, contact us and we'll look into it.
How to Ask About a Refund
Email support or use the support form, and include:
- the domain or service the payment was for
- the transaction reference from your receipt
- what happened
We reply within one business day.
