Reporting Abuse, Spam, or Phishing Associated with NG Domain Services

NG Domain is committed to maintaining a safe and secure internet environment. We take reports of abuse, spam, phishing, and other malicious activities seriously. If you encounter any such activity associated with a domain registered through NG Domain, please report it to us.

Types of Abuse You Can Report:

• Spam: Unsolicited commercial email (UCE) or unsolicited bulk email (UBE) sent from or advertising a domain registered with us.
• Phishing: Websites or emails deceptively trying to acquire sensitive information like usernames, passwords, and credit card details by masquerading as a trustworthy entity.
• Malware/Viruses: Websites distributing malicious software.
• Copyright or Trademark Infringement: Websites hosting content that infringes on your intellectual property rights.
• Illegal Content: Websites promoting or hosting content that violates Nigerian law or internationally recognised illegal activities (e.g., child exploitation, hate speech, incitement to violence).
• WHOIS Inaccuracy: If you believe the WHOIS contact information for a domain registered with NG Domain is inaccurate or outdated.

How to Report Abuse:

1. Gather Evidence:

   • For Spam: Include the full email headers of the spam message. This is crucial for us to trace the origin.
   • For Phishing/Malware Websites: Provide the exact URL(s) of the offending website.
   • For Copyright/Trademark Infringement: Clearly identify the infringing material and provide proof of your ownership of the copyrighted/trademarked content.
   • For Other Abuse: Provide as much detail as possible, including logs, screenshots, and specific times/dates if relevant.

2. Submit Your Report:

   • Email: Send your report with all gathered evidence to [email protected], with "Abuse report" in the subject line.
   • Support Form: You can also use the form on our support page.

3. What to Include in Your Report:

   • Your name and contact information.
   • The domain name(s) or IP address(es) involved.
   • A clear and concise description of the abusive activity.
   • All relevant evidence (full email headers, URLs, screenshots, logs).
   • The date and time the abuse occurred (including timezone).

What Happens After You Report?

1. Acknowledgement: You will usually receive an automated acknowledgement that your report has been received.
2. Investigation: Our team will investigate the report. This may involve examining the website or messages involved and contacting the domain's registrant.
3. Action: If the report is validated and a violation of our Terms of Service is found, NG Domain will take appropriate action. This can range from issuing a warning to the registrant to suspending the domain.
4. Notification (Optional): Due to privacy considerations, we may not always be able to disclose the specific actions taken. However, we strive to resolve reported abuse promptly.

Reporting to Other Entities:

• Anti-Phishing Working Group (APWG): For phishing, you can also report to [email protected].
• National Authorities: For illegal activities, you may also need to report to the relevant law enforcement agencies in Nigeria.
